Hitchcock & Hitchcock, PC began life in 1949 as Lewis & Rozier, PC when it was founded by John Lewis and Louis H. Rozier. The name changed to Lewis, Rozier & Hitchcock when Franklin Hitchcock joined the firm in 1965. In 1976, the name was again changed to Rozier & Hitchcock when John Lewis retired. When Lewis H. Rozier retired in 2001, the name was changed to Hitchcock & Hitchcock, PC. Since its inception, the firm has focused on real estate and estate planning/probate, while also handling small business matters and family law.
Paul W. Hitchcock
Paul grew up in Sparta, GA, where he attended John Hancock Academy. After getting his bachelor's degree in Geology from the University of Georgia, he lived and studied in Idaho for 4 years before returning to the University of Georgia for law school, graduating in 2005. Paul was an Assistant District Attorney in the Piedmont Judicial Circuit prior to moving to Milledgeville and joining his father and older brother in the family practice of Hitchcock & Hitchcock, P.C., in October of 2007. Paul is married to Milledgeville native Courtney (Stillwell), and they have two children, Hayleigh and Winn. In addition to closing real estate transactions, Paul handles most of the firm's family law matters and also specializes in drafting National Firearms Act (NFA) Trusts.
John F. Hitchcock, Jr.
John grew up in Sparta, GA, where he
attended John Hancock Academy. He earned his Bachelor's Degree in Political Science and Economics from Duke University in 1995, and received his Law Degree from the University of Georgia in 2000. John has been with the firm since he was admitted to the State Bar in 2000. He is married to Milledgeville native Carrie (Waters) and has three children--Caitlin, Evan and Bella--and a stepdaughter--Sophie. John closes real estate transactions, handles most of the firm's small business law matters and also serves as the Solicitor for Hancock County Traffic Court and as the Attorney for the City of Sparta.
J Franklin Hitchcock
Franklin is a life-long resident of Hancock County, having been born and raised in the Beulah Community. He earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Forest Resources from the University of Georgia in 1962 and his Law Degree from the University of Georgia in 1965. He joined the firm of Lewis & Rozier in Sparta upon his law school graduation and has remained with the firm through its various name changes over the years. He is married to Mary Ann (Garner) and they have three sons, John, Paul, and Andrew. Franklin is a walking encyclopedia when it comes to Hancock County real estate. Franklin does the majority of the title examinations and also acts as an income tax return preparer.
